USAA/NFAA Basic Instructor--Learning
range safety and teaching new archers. This
course teaches the non-archer how to safely shoot a bow, and
how to run a safe beginner archery program. Designed
for short-term program staff of camps, schools, and rec
agencies. The Basic course is taught frequently across
the country, and at each Easton Archery Center.
Participants also learn simple lesson plans and training
techniques for new archers. It is an 8-hour course for
any person aged 16 or above. The certification is
jointly held with USAA and NFAA, and is valid for 3 years. -
USAA/NFAA Intermediate
Instructor--Developing shooting form techniques for club
archers.
A 2-Day course,
participants learn how to teach the specific steps of
shooting, to identify and correct form errors, to conduct
training exercises using the official "Drills & Skills"
student guidebook, and to teach a Basic Instructor course
for agency staff or as part of the NADA referral network.
Participants must have previously competed the Basic
Instructor certification, or have at least 6 months
experience in archery through other programs.
Certification requires membership in either USAA or NFAA.
The Intermediate course is taught frequently
across the country, and at each Easton Archery Center. -
USAA/ASA Community Coach--Transitioning from the
Instructor to the Coaching ranks. This
3-Day certification course pulls it all together for
instructors transitioning to "coach" status.
Participants learn more advanced coaching techniques to work
with more experienced archers. Mental exercises,
nutrition, shooting form and tournament play are all
stressed. Participants also learn how to teach the
Intermediate Instructor certification course.
Participation requires USAA Archery Intermediate
certification, or a mid-range certification from NASP or
4-H, and requires membership in either USAA or ASA.
This course is offered nationwide, or at each Easton Archery
Centers.
