The coaching pipeline.

  • USAA/NFAA Basic Instructor--Learning range safety and teaching new archers. This course teaches the non-archer how to safely shoot a bow, and how to run a safe beginner archery program.  Designed for short-term program staff of camps, schools, and rec agencies.  The Basic course is taught frequently across the country, and at each Easton Archery Center.  Participants also learn simple lesson plans and training techniques for new archers.  It is an 8-hour course for any person aged 16 or above.  The certification is jointly held with USAA and NFAA, and is valid for 3 years.
  • USAA/NFAA Intermediate Instructor--Developing shooting form techniques for club archers.  A 2-Day course, participants learn how to teach the specific steps of shooting, to identify and correct form errors, to conduct training exercises using the official "Drills & Skills" student guidebook, and to teach a Basic Instructor course for agency staff or as part of the NADA referral network.  Participants must have previously competed the Basic Instructor certification, or have at least 6 months experience in archery through other programs.  Certification requires membership in either USAA or NFAA. The Intermediate course is taught frequently across the country, and at each Easton Archery Center.
  • USAA/ASA Community Coach--Transitioning from the Instructor to the Coaching ranks.   This 3-Day certification course pulls it all together for instructors transitioning to "coach" status.  Participants learn more advanced coaching techniques to work with more experienced archers.  Mental exercises, nutrition, shooting form and tournament play are all stressed.  Participants also learn how to teach the Intermediate Instructor certification course.  Participation requires USAA Archery Intermediate certification, or a mid-range certification from NASP or 4-H, and requires membership in either USAA or ASA.  This course is offered nationwide, or at each Easton Archery Centers.
